KRG

KRG was established conceptually in 2005 by a group of then active duty Army Special Forces soldiers. Being both professional and sport shooters, their passion led them to a deep understanding of the strong and weak points in the fielded equipment. They were not satisfied with the small arms or accoutrements available. Many products were only barely acceptable and, although some were very good, there was clearly a need for evolutionary enhancements as well as completely new products.

All of the founding members have multiple OIF/OEF deployments and have had extensive small arms training through the military and, in some cases, have been instructors. In addition, they have been avid shooters since youth. This experience and knowledge helped carry them through some of special operation’s highest level marksmanship schools.

KRG’s product designers have worked long and hard to hone their skills. Years ago, their initial design was a stable, spigot mounted bipod for bolt action rifles. This was followed by a rotating M4 scope mount that allowed use of either a precision optic or a red dot style optic depending on the situation. These products never saw the light of mass production but served an important purpose for the company.

Today, company members have been responsible for three small arms designs, parts of a fourth, and a few accessory items unrelated to KRG. The first rifle was a modular straight-pull bolt action rifle called the Ballista, the design of which was purchased by an outside company. The second was the Magpul Massoud .308 semi-auto rifle (and parts of the Magpul Masada/Remington ACR, completed by KRG’s lead designer while he was working for Magpul. The other rifle is an evolutionary step for semi-autos that combines all the best features of gas guns produced to date in a nice 5.56 sized platform. This has been shelved for now as we concentrate on our main interest which is precision bolt guns and gas guns. However, we’ve got some interesting things in the works that we can’t announce just yet.

Everyone at KRG continues to shoot for fun and competition on the civilian side. Essentially, we are students of, and professionals in, the fields of small arms design and small arms employment. We believe that if you work hard and have fun, good things happen. We do work hard, and we have fun doing it; we believe we have brought some top tier products to the market and we’ll strive to continue to do so.
